Melissa Fisher, CRNP
Melissa has been practicing nursing for twenty- two years. She earned her undergraduate B.S. in nursing from Johns Hopkins University in 2001 and a Masters in nursing from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She obtained nurse practitioner certification in 2006 through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She worked as a registered nurse in the areas of cardiac telemetry, cancer research at NIH and home care. As a nurse practitioner, Melissa practiced in primary care, home care, regenerative medicine and medical weight loss.
Melissa’s focus has always been preventative health care. She implemented a wellness program at her primary care practice dedicated to the prevention and treatment of chronic disease with an emphasis on type 2 diabetes. She obtained certification as a personal trainer and sports medicine through AAAI/ISMI. In regenerative medicine she treated patients with stem cells for a variety of conditions such as arthritis, plantar fasciitis, hair loss and other inflammatory conditions. Melissa also has earned a Master certification in bioidentical hormone therapy from Dr. Angela DeRosa founder of the Hormone Health Institute. Bioidentical hormone therapy treats premenopausal as well as post- menopausal women suffering from symptoms of estrogen and testosterone deficiency. Most recently, Melissa has focused on the treatment of obesity. Obesity results from a vicious cycle of inflammation and insulin resistance. It is very difficult for patients to lose weight on their own once they reach a metabolic state that increases hunger and fat storage. Melissa has successfully treated thousands of patients using GLP-1 and GIP agonists like semaglutide and tirzepatide. These ground-braking medications are changing lives in ways never seen. They directly target hormones in the brain, pancreas and intestines to correct the metabolic derangements seen in obesity, diabetes, and pre-diabetes. These patients not only lose weight but significant decreases in blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol as well.
Melissa is a native of Maryland, is married with two children and two dogs. Her hobbies are boating, travelling to other countries to see Taylor Swift concerts and spending time with her family. Her lifetime dream has been to own her own business doing what she loves. The mission of Rejuvelife LLC is to change lives- one patient at a time.
